As the final lights turn off and the last echoes of laughter fade into the Texas sky, the 2024 season of Lone Star Lights has officially come to a close. This year was nothing short of extraordinary, as we had the opportunity of welcoming over 23,600 guests to share in the wonder of the Christmas season. It’s a number that humbles and excites me—knowing that every single visitor experienced something uniquely special under the glow of our lights.
A Season to Remember
Lone Star Lights this year was one for the books. We introduced some incredible new features, like the 100-foot entry tunnel that set the tone for each evening, fireworks and new theming in select areas. Guests seemed to really enjoy the Glacier Climb and Arctic Swing, while the new Glowing Glade in Fractal Forest captured imaginations with it’s interactive floor. Our dinner theatre experience, featuring an exclusive rendition of Gift of the Magi brought families together to enjoy a timeless tale of love and sacrifice.
These additions were designed with a simple goal in mind: to create spaces where joy, connection, and the true meaning of the season could take center stage. Seeing guests laugh, gasp, and marvel at every turn was a powerful reminder of why we do this event.
Behind the Magic
Behind every twinkling light and festive display lies countless hours of dedication, creativity, and hard work. Lone Star Lights is more than an event—it’s a labor of love. Our team of designers, builders, performers, staff and volunteers poured their hearts into making this year’s event unforgettable.
From months of planning and building to countless late nights tweaking every detail, it’s a massive undertaking that could not happen without the passion and commitment of an incredible team. Each person played a vital role in bringing Lone Star Lights to life, and I’m endlessly grateful for their tireless effort and commitment to making this event what it is.
Impacting Thousands
While the numbers—23,000 guests, thousands of hours of preparation, and dozens of attractions—are impressive, the true impact of Lone Star Lights goes far deeper. It’s in the smiles of kids as they ride the Arctic Swing. It’s in the quiet moments of reflection beneath the Vertical Cathedral and in the Prayer Arbor.
It’s in the families gathered around a table at the dinner theater, creating memories they’ll carry with them for years to come.
One guest shared how walking through the Reason for the Season zone reminded them of the hope they found during a difficult year. Another expressed gratitude for a space where their family could pause and reconnect in the midst of a hectic holiday season. These stories are the heartbeat of Lone Star Lights, and they fuel our passion for creating an event that touches lives in meaningful ways and invites all to experience and know the love of Jesus.
Thank You
To every one of the more than 23,000 guests who walked through our gates, thank you. Your smiles, laughter, and shared moments are what bring Lone Star Lights to life. You are the reason we do this.
As the lights fade, we carry the hope, joy, and love of this season with us into the new year. May the light of the season stay with you always, and may your days ahead be merry, bright, and full of hope.
Here’s to the future of Lone Star Lights and to continuing the mission of creating spaces where the love of Jesus shines brightly.
