Embracing New Beginnings

Right now, I find myself in the midst of a season of transition. After almost a decade at Carolina Creek, where I had the privilege of building a creative team from the ground up, everything is shifting. The team I led is being dissolved, and the place I’ve called home for so long is changing. It’s a strange feeling, to be honest—there’s excitement about what’s next, but also a sense of loss and uncertainty.

There’s always that moment of “What’s next?” when you realize that everything you’ve known is shifting, and you’re standing on the edge of something new. For me, it’s more than just the change in job or role. It’s a deeper reflection on what I’ve learned, how I’ve grown, and what God’s been teaching me along the way.

One of the biggest things I’ve come to realize during this time is the power of intentionality. Over the years, I’ve learned that being creative is important, but it’s the intentionality behind that creativity that makes it meaningful. Whether it’s crafting an experience, leading a team, or even just building relationships, if it’s not done with purpose, it’s just a task. As I move through this season, I keep coming back to that idea: whatever I do next, I want to do it with intention. It’s not just about creating something for the sake of it; it’s about understanding the why and aligning everything with a bigger purpose.

At the same time, I’m learning the value of letting go. It’s hard to step away from something that you’ve poured so much of yourself into—projects like Lone Star Lights, the teams I’ve built, the moments I’ve witnessed. But letting go isn’t a sign of failure or that something was wrong. Sometimes it’s simply about trusting the process, knowing that as you let go of one thing, you create space for something else. I’ve had to remind myself of that. The process isn’t over; it’s just evolving. It’s all part of the bigger story God is weaving.

What’s been surprising to me in all of this is how I’ve been learning to find purpose in the everyday moments. It’s easy to get caught up in the big milestones and forget that purpose is often found in the smaller, quieter moments. Whether it’s a conversation with someone, a task that seems small but actually moves things forward, or just sitting in stillness for a moment, I’m finding that there’s as much meaning in the day-to-day as there is in the big, flashy goals. Those moments are what build the foundation for everything else.

And as I reflect on this season, I’m realizing that transitions aren’t just about change—they’re also about growth. In some ways, the hardest moments are where we learn the most. I don’t have all the answers right now, and I don’t know exactly what’s coming next, but I’m choosing to trust the process. I’m choosing to believe that even in the uncertainty, God is at work, and each step is shaping the next chapter.

There’s peace in that.
